VideoMod Board Question - Balartacus - 2020-08-25

Hello,

I recently purchased the Beamracer expansion board and am looking forward to using it. I see that it supports the VideoMod board. I purchased the VideoMod board from Video Game Perfection. https://videogameperfection.com/products/commodore-component-video/

Does your product include the cable that goes from the Beamracer to the the VideoMod board? Or do I need to source that elsewhere?

Any information would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Balartacus

Hello!

First and foremost: you can absolutely use BeamRacer and VideoMod together through the original VideoMod adapter. The only downside is the vertical size of the stack, which can be a problem in some configurations. If that's the case, you can connect the boards using a 20-pin 0.5mm FPC cable either directly, or through an extra adapter: the version of VideoMod I can see at VGP uses 2x10 pin header connector, so apart from the cable you will also need an FPC-to-female 2x10, 2.54mm header adapter.

The version from VideoMod github repo (and hopefully soon the models available for purchase) has the FPC connector integrated, so only the cable is needed.

The FPC cable and connector will soon be available through our website.
